Support Girls on the Run
By participating in the Girls on the Run 5K you help empower girls! 100% of the race proceeds go directly to Girls on the Run serving Maricopa and Pinal Counties – a life-changing, non-profit prevention program that inspires girls in 3rd through 8th grade to be joyful, healthy and confident using a fun, experience-based curriculum which creatively integrates running.
Girls on the Run aims to promote an environment that allows girls and women to reach their full potential and to transform the way girls and women perceive themselves and their place in society. Last year we awarded scholarships to more than 70% of our participants. Your support will enable us to continue to deliver programing to these girls and families in need and will provide them with life-changing lessons and support.
Register: Online registration is now closed. You can register for the 5K on Friday, April 27th for $25 at Runner’s Den from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. or on race day for $30.
Running Buddies Needed: THANK YOU FOR YOUR INTEREST. ALL RUNNING BUDDY POSITIONS FOR THE 5K ON APRIL 28TH HAVE BEEN FILLED. PLEASE JOIN US AS A PUBLIC 5K PARTICIPANT THOUGH AND FOLLOW THIS SITE AND OUR FACEBOOK PAGE FOR UPCOMING VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES.
Location: The staging area will be located on the south soccer fields adjacent to the southern park entrance at Guadalupe Road and All-America Way. Parking is available throughout the park and adjacent to the park. We expect a large crowd so we recommend that you arrive early to secure a spot.
Awards and Timing: New this year: Announcing the addition of a competitive 5K race including over-all, age group awards and chip timing! Awards to top over-all man and woman and top 3 men and women in each of the five year age groups.
Teams: Consider getting together with friends, family, colleagues, running partners etc. to form a team! If you are interested in forming a team, your team captain must click on the Team Captain-Create Your Team button when registering. Once the team is created it will show in a drop down box at the top of all registration forms for other team members to select. If you are participating with a team be sure to select your team name during the registration process. We will offer fun prizes for participating teams.
Raffle: All registered participants will receive one raffle ticket upon check-in. Additional tickets will be sold throughout the event: 1 for $1 or 6 for $5. All proceeds benefit Girls on the Run serving Maricopa and Pinal Counties. Must be present at time of drawing to win.
Packet Pick-Up: Registered participants can pick up their race packets on Friday, April 27th at Runner’s Den from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. or on race day. Registration will also be available at Runner’s Den on the 27th.
Be a BINefactor!: At the beginning of the season, each Girls on the Run team receives a plastic bin filled with the supplies needed to implement the GOTR curriculum. We will hold a supply drive at the 5K event. Your donations will enable us to continue to provide programming to all girls and sites interested, regardless of their financial situation.
Items needed include: printing paper, index cards, mailing labels, card stock, construction paper, poster board, first aid kits, pens, markers and gift cards to stores where we could purchase these items and/or pay for copying or print services. If you have any of these and would consider dropping them off at the Supply Drive Tent at the race we would be so grateful!
Volunteer: Volunteers make this event possible! We are looking for volunteers that can be on site from 6 to about 10:30 a.m. on event day. If you are interested in helping, please submit this Form.
Sleep-In for the Cause!
Not a morning person or can’t attend the event, but still want to support Girls on the Run®? Make a donation instead. Your entire contribution will go directly to the program.
